There are weeks I am apathetic about my day job, but sometimes the trip to work is reason enough to convince me to move far away. There are drowsy people driving and not enough attention to the roadway. To top it off, I then hit my carefully balanced coffee on the way into the parking stall...

Another day another dollar.

I recently saw a huge building on holmes on homes that totally made my jaw drop – Everywhere they had installed whole-home automation and did a excellent job of putting the pieces together. Almost every overhead light knew what the other was doing and even the dishwasher plus the heated floors were controlled by the house.

I have loved devices for controlling lights for a long time but I hadn’t even dreamed about something like this, it was wicked and truly remarkable.
Sometimes I dream of having our condo do fancy tasks along the lines of announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. Ok a bit out in the future (regardless of this some average people are in the process of it) on the other hand more practical items such as music for parties or relaxing are available and affordable this year. Now it’s just up to me to sway the lady writing the cheques... following which she can blame the site that helped me learn about this stuff: Zwave vs Insteon
