Beginning our marriage of intense gaming and Zwave …..

Switching focus from domotics into home movie rooms shouldn’t be very big of a transition considering lots of people (myself included) probably started their exploration for control of lights via a harmony remote to make the uber-cool home theatre setup ideal. In my mind the touchscreen remote controls have turned out to be a miracle and we bought one for each of our house’s televisions. When you consider that we rarely watch that live programming style of watching anymore, there’s always a bunch of receivers and the like to flick on which wasted my time picking up one changer followed by the subsequent one until all the devices were on, only to go backwards on the process once whatever I was watching was over and done with.

Speaking of remotes, the commingling of technologies like Insteon with entertainment is inching more realistic each week with many of the innovating manufacturers prototyping infared integration from any powerline network as of late and as a result one can do events like commanding a tuner that’s clear across the house using only your wireless home network device. Neat stuff, though it is illustrated with more of a tutorial style here ISY-99i forum when contrasted against most X10 sites so it is definitely a essential place to learn from.
The writer there is way too enthusiastic when reviewing Insteon.

Talking to Frank got me planning .

We watched a huge building on extreme home makeover that totally caused me to drool – Everywhere they had installed domotics and did a excellent job of putting the pieces together. Close to every overhead light was centrally controlled and even silly things like the inside doors plus the shower steam generator were talking to each other.
I’ve been a fan of Insteon for a while now but we’d not attempted a house like this, it was crazy and I want everything I saw now.
Sometimes I dream of making the superhome that we live in (slight exageration) do cool things along the lines of running a bath by just asking the house to or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of this stuff is a ways from now (despite the fact that some groups have done it) nevertheless stuff for example music that can be remotely controlled are ubiquitous and reasonably priced today. Now it’s just up to me to win over the lady writing the cheques... at which point she can hold responsible the page that got me interested: Insteon review
