Reminder: buy remote control lights

by on Aug.21, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

I should let people know that for items considered to be domotics I can’t resist recent devices for sale by companies such as SmartLabs and SmartLabs.

Many of these new devices for sale aren’t actually as as much of a movement as one would imagine due to the fact that they likely had been done other ways utilizing other standard parts but instead now they’re accessible as a organized package. Another perk is you won’t require a 6 page schematic to set things up.

Upon closer inspection there are quite a few correlations between the product lineups. For example, not one of them use handheld remote items as message boosters, and all the items use RF in some capacity. Beyond this though, it becomes a bit complex – I’d rather not venture to explain it at this point and make mistakes, this site ISY-99i review has good discussions digging into any divergences.

That said anyone with any thoughts regarding ways to pull together enough cash to cover my recent habit, don’t hesitate to help me out!

Starting our incorporation of projector rooms with home automation …..

by on Aug.21, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Making the jump starting with lighting control over into home entertainment is hardly that big of a conversion considering countless individuals (myself included) probably started their journey for perfect ambiance using a remote to make the perception of movie room replica perfect. I feel the touchscreen remotes have turned out to be a key device and we bought one for virtually all of the plasmas. Especially since I never do the ‘live’ tv style of watching any more, there’s always what seemed like many entertainment systems to turn on and it drove me crazy picking up the first clicker followed by the next one until it was ready, just to repeat the method after our game was over and done with.

While smart remotes are here now, the crossover of items from Zwave with home theatres is moving more realistic each day with most respected manufacturers making infared control from your system as of late and as a result anyone with an interest can now do actions like controlling a tuner which could be at the far end of the condo with just one’s wireless automation controls. I love this stuff, and the details are explained better at X10 switches when compared to most Zwave sites so it’s a informative spot to read through.
I love that he is seriously excited about this stuff.
