2009 is the year of home automation

When it comes to things related to domotics I really like any of the new releases produced from consortiums like Home Automation Inc and Power Control Systems.
Nearly all of the new devices produced shouldn’t be considered so much new as they appear since this stuff could be built before working with existing off-the-shelf parts but now they are presented as a nice kit. As a side benefit these kits don’t require fluke testers around the house to figure it out.

A deeper look shows us several correlations with the product lineups. One such similarity, none of the offerings use battery-operated devices as message boosters, and almost all products use radio waves in some manner. Digging deeper though, it gets more a bit complex – I could venture to describe it here and mess it up, there’s a site here Insteon thermostat has good discussions highlighting some of the variations.
Now anybody having any legal ideas relating to ways to pull together sufficient moolah to make up for my latest addiction, don’t hesitate to pass it along!
A commercial got me started .

We watched a wicked place on that house makeover show which almost made my jaw drop – They had used home automation and had done a pretty decent job of the implementation. Nearly every light knew what to do and get this- the car starters as well as the heated floors were accessible from the controllers everywhere.
My wife and I have liked basic home automation for forever but thinking about a dream house like this, it was amazing and truly remarkable.
We talk about letting our condo do cool things like announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. maybe some stuff is a bit out from now (regardless of this some groups have done it) still items like atmosphere settings which can be changed over the internet should be locally available and economical this year. One more thing to do: sway the significant other...... following which I’m sure she’ll just love the page that helped me learn about this stuff: Insteon Controller
