My chat with Susie got me planning …

There was a house on one of the HD channels that totally caused me to beg my wife – The house had X10 and did a pretty decent job of the implementation. It seemed like every ceiling fan was integrated and I think even the gate plus the shower steam generator were eerily controlled.
I’ve used Zwave for forever but I had never seen a dream house like this, it was sensational and I want everything I saw now.
We talk about making where we’re living more automated so it can like turning on the shower in the morning or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of this stuff is still several years in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that certain rich folks have made it work) though stuff for example environment modes for different moods or events are ubiquitous and inexpensive this year. When I get home I will win over my lovely wife...... then she can hold responsible the place that helped me learn about this stuff: Home automation products

Scoping our crossover points of intense gaming against house automation …..
by on Sep.30, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave
Switching focus from domotics over into in-house theatres isn’t much of a change considering the majority of people probably started the quest for lighting via a integrated control unit to make the full home theatre replica perfect. Personally the Harmony series of controllers have turned out to be a marvel and we own one for all of our house’s tv’s. Especially since we never watch that non-PVR style of watching at all, it seems there’s perpetually a ton of devices to switch on which wasted my time using the first remote followed by the next one until all the devices were on, before we have to repeat the procedure after our game was over and done with.

The other thing is, the crossover of automation with our ‘relaxing’ technologies is getting more real by the day with most innovating vendors selling infrared transmit and receive from a domotics network as of late and because of this anyone with an interest can do stuff we couldn’t do before like turning on and off a tuner which could be clear across the home with only the handheld Zwave device. Many possibilities, though everything is described more completely here X10 switches than most review sites so it is definitely a good place which simplifies things amazingly well.
You can tell he is borderline psychotic when discussing this stuff.
Grrrr, I can’t stand 2 hour delays that make me late!

Many weeks I don’t mind my workplace, but every so often the travel coming in is all that’s needed to cause me to retire early. Some people are such new people driving with not enough thoughts to the roadway. As if that wasn’t enough, I then hit my Starbucks driving in to the lot... Blah.

My night made me fired up …..
by on Sep.29, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave
Two weeks ago a sweet house on EHM that seriously made me stare – Everywhere they had installed automatic sprinklers and did a really fantastic job of having it be impressive. Close to every fireplace was centrally controlled and stuff like the phones plus the robot vacuum were controlled.
I’ve used Zwave for a while now but I’d never seen a house like this, it was amazing and truly remarkable.
I’ve thought about having my house do cool things along the lines of announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. Some of this stuff is a bit out from now (it should be noted that some people are in the process of it) nevertheless items like atmosphere settings which respond to your moods should be locally available and economical now. This week I’m going to plead my case to my other half... then she can blame the link which made me interested in the first place: Zwave products

Every once in a while, I don’t like 2 hour delays on my route!
by on Sep.28, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave
Some days I enjoy working downtown, but there are times when the trip by itself is sufficient to make me want not to show up. There are new sheeple and not enough attention to the road. Adding to this, what happens next? I hit my coffee just as I pulled into the parkade...
There's always tomorrow.
