Every once in a while, I really dislike traffic jams on the way in!

There are weeks I don’t mind my day job, but every so often the traffic coming in is reason enough to cause me not to show up. One in three are drowsy motorists and barely any concentration to driving. To top it off, I spilled my tea as I drove into the garage...

Blah.

Beginning my merger of home theatre with remote control lights !

by on Sep.22, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Transitioning from domotics over into home movie rooms isn’t that big of a stretch bearing in mind lots of individuals probably started their journey for control of lights using a harmony remote to make the entire theatre room setup complete. Personally the AMX clickers are a key device and we now use one for all of our house’s tv sets. Since I almost never do the ‘live’ tv style of watching anymore, there is constantly a million different things to flick on and it wasted my time grabbing one control and then the next in line until it was ready, before we have to go backwards on the procedure after whatever I was watching was finished.

The other thing is, the mixture of lighting control with entertainment is becoming more realistic every day with some of the more popular companies prototyping IR management from a home system recently and because of this you can then do stuff we couldn’t do before like switching the station of a radio that’s across the apartment using just your remote tool. Neat stuff, although it is clarified in more detail at Z-Wave home automation when contrasted against many sites so it’s for sure a good location to read through.
It’s apparent that he is way too enthusiastic about this stuff.
