Considering our integration of media centers with X10

Changing passions from lighting control over to home cinemas is not much of a transition considering countless individuals probably started their exploration for lighting via a remote to make the uber-cool home theatre setup perfect. Maybe it’s just me but the touchscreen remote controls have turned out to be a miracle and we now purchased one for virtually all of our tv’s. Since I don’t do the ‘live’ tv style of watching at all, there is always a bunch of receivers and the like to flick on which I hated - picking up one remote control then the next in line until things were setup, only to repeat the procedure once whatever I was watching was finished.

While smart remotes are here now, the incorporation of items from Zwave and entertainment is moving nearer every day with quite a few of the more popular producers releasing infared integration from a domotics system as of late and as a result one can do events such as controlling a music player that is clear across the apartment utilizing only your handheld Insteon tool. There’s a ton to learn, though things are explained better at this Insteon site ISY-99 Insteon when compared to most places so it is definitely a informative destination to see.
I love that he is dangerously eager regarding this stuff.
Speaking with Mark got me planning …

Two weeks ago this one house on that house makeover show which almost made me want to copy it – Everywhere they had installed domotics and did a excellent job setting things up. Each door knew what to do and since this was an extreme case the litter boxes and shower steam generator were accessible from the controllers everywhere.
I’ve used lighting control for what seems like forever but we’d not attempted something like this, it was wicked and I’m still in shock.
Sometimes I dream of having the house do neat stuff along the lines of running a bath by just asking the house to or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Ok a ways from now (it should be noted that certain rich folks have done it) on the other hand items like atmosphere settings for parties or relaxing have come down in price and affordable now. The last step is to sway the wife...... then she can hold responsible the page that got me started on all this: X10 home automation
