My night got me started …..

There was a killer house on abc which probably caused me to drool – They had used Zigbee and had done a excellent job making it all work. Each sprinkler knew what to do and even the fridge (including ice maker) and hot tub were controlled by the house.

I always liked for a long time but I hadn’t even dreamed about a dream house like this, it was amazing and I’m still in shock.

I always talk about having the house do neat stuff along the lines of following me with music through the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of this stuff is most realistically a couple years in the future (it should be noted that certain rich folks are doing it) but more practical items for instance lighting at the touch of a button should be locally available and reasonably priced now. In order to make this happen I need to convince my other half... after which she can blame the page where it all started: Zwave vs Insteon

Planning my marriage of theatre rooms with Zwave .

Branching out from over into home cinemas shouldn’t be that big of a conversion bearing in mind most people (myself included) almost certainly began the journey for lighting through a remote to make the entire theatre room experience complete. Maybe it’s just me but the iPod touch clickers are a marvel and we now use one for each of our house’s tv watching areas. Especially since I don’t watch that non-PVR style of watching at all, it felt like there was almost always way too many things to flick on which made me so frustrated using one remote then the next until it was ready, before we have to reverse the procedure after we were done.

While smart remotes are here now, the merger of lighting control with home entertainment is inching increasingly common each day with quite a few of the well known companies offering infared integration from any automation network now and so one can now perform actions we couldn’t do before like networking a tuner which could be in an adjacent room of the apartment utilizing one’s RF tool. So much to think about, although the whole thing is described in more detail here: Z-Wave home automation when compared to many sites so it is definitely a key destination to read through.
It’s apparent that he is dangerously eager when discussing automation devices.
