She just loves Zwave

I should let people know that for devices associated with house automation I watch pretty carefully the recent releases available by vendors such as the Z-Wave alliance and Power Control Systems.
Many of these new products available shouldn’t be considered so much new as they appear in that this stuff could all be built through other means working with existing standard products but for beginners they are presented as a nice set. That and these kits don’t feel like you need an electrical engineering degree to get it working.

Looking closer we see numerous likenesses between the major players. One such similarity, almost none of them use portable items as signal relays, and almost all products use radio waves someway. When investigating further still, it gets a bit complex – I’d rather not venture to describe it myself and make mistakes, this site Insteon Controller has pages dedicated to showcasing the differentiators.

Now if you have any thoughts for how I can pull together sufficient dough to cover our new addiction, don’t hesitate to pass it along!

Starting our consolidation of home entertainment combined with automation technology

by on Nov.18, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Making the jump from to in-house theatres isn’t very big of a stretch bearing in mind several folks likely started their journey for lighting control through a remote to make the perception of room-turned-theatre replica complete. Maybe it’s just me but the iPod touch controllers have turned out to be a marvel and we now purchased one for every one of our house’s plasmas. Taking into consideration that we don’t do the live programming style of watching anymore, it felt like there was almost always a million different receivers and the like to turn on which I hated - picking up the first control then the subsequent one until everything was ready, only to reverse the method after the show was over.

That said, the incorporation of items from Zwave with entertainment is becoming nearer every time I check with most well known producers releasing IR transmit and receive from a powerline network as of late and because of this anyone with an interest can then perform stuff such as scripting a radio which could be at the far end of the place using one’s RF automation controls. Neat stuff, though the finer points are described with more of a tutorial style here: Insteon when contrasted against many blogs so it’s a informative destination to learn from.

I love that he is way too enthusiastic when discussing this stuff.
