Argh, I can’t stand crashes on the way to work!

by on Dec.31, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

The majority of weeks I don’t mind work, but some days the trip alone is sufficient to drive me to resign. Too many lousy people driving and hardly any concentration to the road. Adding insult to injury, what happens next? I tipped my Starbucks on the last corner in to the parking stall... Grrrr.

My chat with Susie got me started …

We watched a killer house on one of the HD channels that totally made me want to copy it – They installed and did a really fantastic job of having it be impressive. Nearly every fireplace knew what the rest of the house was doing and stuff like the bath tubs plus the shower steam generator were accessible from the controllers everywhere.

We’ve used Zwave for a while now but I had never seen systems like this, it was crazy and I’m still in shock.

I often day dream of having our condo do fancy tasks such as following me with music through the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of this stuff is most realistically a couple years from now (although some average people are in the process of it) nevertheless some more pragmatic goals like music at the touch of a button are ubiquitous and reasonably priced lately. Now it’s just up to me to persuade the lady writing the cheques- then she can focus her energy on the page where I found the information: ISY-99i review

Considering our fusion of home cinema with Zwave …..

Branching out starting with into home theatres shouldn’t be much of a stretch bearing in mind many people (not counting us) almost certainly kicked off the journey for perfect ambiance through a remote to make the super cool in-house theatre setup ideal. I feel the iPod touch clickers have been a godsend and we bought one for each of our house’s tv sets. Especially since we never do the ‘live’ tv style of watching at all, there’s almost always what seemed like many devices to flick on which wasted my time grabbing one remote then the next until everything was ready, before we have to go backwards on the procedure once we were over and done with.

Speaking of remotes, the mixture of automation technologies with our ‘relaxing’ technologies is inching increasingly common by the week with quite a few of the more popular manufacturers offering UHF control from any automation system recently and so anyone with an interest can then perform things like switching the station of a stereo which could be across the house using the remote home network device. It’s exciting, though everything is described more thoroughly here: X10 home automation when compared to most technology sites so it’s for sure a informative destination to learn from.
You can tell he is seriously excited when reviewing technology.

Some days, I can’t stand crashes on my drive in!

by on Dec.30, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Some days I take satisfaction in working downtown, but some days the drive by itself is reason enough to force me not to show up. Just so many new motorists with barely any attention to the pavement. Adding insult to injury, I then hit my Starbucks on the last corner into the garage...

So this is life.

Considering my marriage of media centers despite having remote control lights .

by on Dec.29, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Making the jump from automation into home movie rooms is hardly much of a leap taking into account many individuals probably began their exploration for perfect ambiance through a remote control to make the perception of theatre room replica ideal. Maybe it’s just me but the computer programmed controllers are a marvel and we now bought one for every one of our plasmas. Taking into consideration that we almost never watch that live programming style of watching any more, it felt like there was constantly a ton of entertainment systems to switch on and it wasted my time using one changer and then the next one until everything was ready, just to repeat the method once whatever I was watching was over and done with.

With that in mind, the commingling of with entertainment is becoming more realistic each time I check with quite a few respected companies releasing UHF management from your domotics system now and because of this you can perform events we couldn’t do before like scripting a music player which could be in an adjacent room of the home with just your wireless Zwave tool. Very cool overall, although it’s clarified more completely at ISY-99i than some sites so it’s absolutely a good location to learn from.
It’s useful because he is borderline psychotic regarding this stuff.
