Going starting with home automation over to home cinemas isn’t much of a stretch considering many individuals likely started their journey for lighting via a harmony remote to make the uber-cool in-house theatre experience complete. We found that the iPod touch controllers have been a miracle and we now use one for each of our house’s televisions. Taking into consideration that we almost never do the non-PVR style of watching any more, there’s almost always a million different entertainment systems to turn on and it wasted my time picking up the first remote control and then the next one until things were setup, only to go backwards on the procedure after the show was over and done with.

With that in mind, the merger of automation technologies and home entertainment is getting more real every day with some of the prevalent companies prototyping infared integration from any powerline system as of late and because of this one can now perform stuff we couldn’t do before like commanding a radio which could be in an adjacent room of the apartment having the remote automation tool.
