My night made me think .

We watched a huge building on the discovery channel that totally made my jaw drop – It was crazy and had done a decent job making it all work. Almost every kitchen appliance knew what the other was doing and even the litter boxes as well as the hot tub were controlled by the house.

We’ve gotten a kick out of lighting control for forever but I hadn’t even dreamed about a house like this, it was crazy and I’m still in shock.

I often day dream of letting my place more automated so it can along the lines of following me with music through the house or reminding us of obligations as we leave the house. Some of this stuff is most realistically a couple years from now (it should be noted that certain rich folks have made it work) though items such as lighting and music that can be remotely controlled are available and economical today. This week I’m going to win over the lady writing the cheques... following which she can blame the page that got me interested: ISY-99i review

Planning our combination of home cinema despite having Insteon …..

by on Dec.19, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Moving from domotics to home entertainment is hardly very big of a transition in view of the fact that lots of users (myself included) likely started their exploration for control of lights through a remote control to make the perception of room-turned-theatre experience just right. Maybe it’s just me but the Logitech clickers have turned out to be a favorite item and we purchased one for each of our house’s tv’s. When you consider that I rarely watch that non-PVR style of watching anymore, there’s perpetually a million different things to flick on and it drove me crazy picking up one control and then the next until things were setup, before we have to reverse the method after our game was completed.

That said, the integration of with entertainment is becoming more realistic each day with many innovating companies offering infared transmit and receive from your powerline network now and as a result one can now perform things such as scripting a receiver which is at the far end of the apartment utilizing just the remote home network device. So much to think about, and the details are elaborated on better here: X10 review when contrasted against some sites so it’s a informative destination to see.
You can tell he is borderline psychotic when reviewing this stuff.
