My call with Quinn got me thinking …

We watched a wicked place on holmes on homes which almost made me stare – They were using motorized plasmas in the kitchen and did a seriously outstanding job of the implementation. Each overhead light had a remote control and things like the bath tubs and arcade room were accessible from the many panels in the house.
My passion has been basic home automation for forever but I hadn’t even dreamed about automation so integrated, it was sensational and I’m still in shock.
I’ve thought about making our condo do cool things along the lines of following me with music through the house or voice alerting us to someone at the door. I’ll admit some stuff is most realistically a couple years from now (regardless of this there are people that have done it) but items such as environment modes for parties or relaxing have come down in price and affordable this year. I really should win over my lovely wife... following which I’m sure she’ll just love the link that helped me learn about this stuff: Insteon
