Like most technologies associated with automation I can’t resist recent devices created through vendors such as the Zigbee Alliance and the Z-Wave alliance.
Many of these recent devices created shouldn’t be considered in reality as new as they appear seeing as they had been accomplished before utilizing available off-the-shelf parts but for those starting out they’re available as a prebuilt kit. One other thing is you won’t feel like you need a complicated circuit diagram to make it work.
Looking closer we see a lot of correlations between the brands. As an example, none of the technologies use handheld remote products as RF relays, and almost all products use radio frequency in some way. Looking deeper still, things become more complicated – Rather than endeavor to outline it at this point and mess it up, this place Insteon Controller does a good job of highlighting any variations.
Now if anyone has any thoughts for how I can make sufficient dough to cover our new addiction, for pete’s sake pass it along!
