I should let people know that for items related to home automation my wallet is at the mercy of some of the new stuff available through vendors such as the Z-Wave alliance and SmartLabs.
What’s interesting is that the recent items available shouldn’t be considered so much as much of a movement as one would imagine because these things could all be created other ways using available readily available products but nowadays they’re presented as a organized kit. A deeper look shows us several correlations with the various technologies. One such similarity, almost none of the offerings use handheld remote products as signal relays, and almost all products use wireless communication to strengthen signals.
