Initiating our merger of gaming room with automation …..

Going from lighting control into home movie rooms shouldn’t be that big of a change considering countless people (not counting us) almost certainly started their curiosity for control of lights through a remote control to make the entire room-turned-theatre experience just right. Personally the Logitech Harmony remotes have been a key device and we now have one for virtually all of our tv sets. Especially since I don’t watch that live programming thing anymore, there is almost always at least a couple receivers and the like to turn on which made me so frustrated using one control and then the next until all the devices were on, just to repeat the method after the movie was finished.

Speaking of remotes, the commingling of automation and our ‘relaxing’ technologies is moving closer each day with almost all respected companies prototyping infrared management from your domotics network as of late and because of this anyone with an interest can now perform stuff such as scripting a radio that is across the house utilizing one’s remote home network controls. Very cool overall, and everything is clarified in more detail here: X10 review than other Insteon blogs so it’s a essential place to learn from.
It’s great – the writer is way too enthusiastic regarding automation devices.
