Something made it so I couldn’t sleep .

Last night was a sweet house on one of the HD channels which literally made me stare – It was crazy Zigbee and had done a pretty decent job of the implementation. It seemed like every sprinkler knew what to do and I didn’t see this coming but the phones plus the gazebo roof were controlled by the house.
I’ve used the clapper for what seems like forever but seeing automation so integrated, it was inspiring and I want everything I saw now.
Sometimes I dream of making our house do neat stuff such as adjusting the temperature for each room or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. Some of these things are still several years from now (although some average people could do it) still some more pragmatic goals such as lighting and music which respond to your moods are ubiquitous and easy(er) on the pocket now. Now it’s just up to me to persuade the lady writing the cheques- following which she can blame the place that got me started on all this: Home automation iPhone
The other thing I read yesterday was regarding Insteon, and a guy I used to go to school with - I ran across his linkedin profile and he's working at Smarthome now! I guess something must have set us both off to be 2 out of 30 people in that class who are both passionate about home automation. Who knew!
