Starting the marriage of home cinema and remote control lighting …

Changing passions from lighting control into home movie rooms is not that big of a stretch bearing in mind lots of users (including me) probably kicked off their curiosity for mood lighting via a remote to make the perception of in-house theatre experience just right. Personally the AMX clickers have turned out to be a marvel and we use one for each one of our house’s tv sets (the one you see is mounted using a Peerless SA740 btw, since some people have asked). Considering we just don’t do the ‘live’ tv style of watching at all, it seems there’s almost always so many devices to switch on which I hated - grabbing one clicker and then the subsequent one until all the devices were on, before we have to repeat the process after the show was completed.

Speaking of remotes, the merger of lighting control and entertainment is getting nearer every week with most innovating vendors offering infrared integration from a home system recently and because of this anyone with an interest can do stuff such as scripting a stereo which could be clear across the apartment having just your RF house tool. There’s a ton to learn, although things are elaborated on in more of an easy to understand fashion at this Insteon site Home automation iPhone than some websites so it is definitely a good site to read through.
That guy is almost scarily passionate when discussing technology.
