Chatting with Joe got me started …..

There was a sweet house on that show after Lost which probably caused me to beg my wife – Everywhere they had installed speech recognition and performed a so-so job of putting the pieces together. Almost every overhead light knew what the rest of the house was doing and stuff like the inside doors plus the hot tub were fully integrated.
We’ve gotten a kick out of basic home automation for forever but we’d not attempted automation so integrated, it was amazing and I’m still in shock.
I always talk about letting our apartment do neat stuff such as turning on the shower in the morning or reminding us of obligations as we leave the house. maybe some stuff is most realistically a couple years in the future (although some houses are doing it) still more practical items like environment modes at the touch of a button are available and economical today. One more thing to do: convince the lady writing the cheques... following which she can hold responsible the place which made me interested in the first place: Z-Wave home automation
