As with all items associated with automation I watch pretty carefully any of the recent products for sale from companies such as Home Automation Inc and the Zigbee Alliance.
Almost all of these recent devices for sale are not so much revolutionary as evolutionary seeing as these things could all be created through other means utilizing other standard items but instead now they are offered as a clean little kit. One other thing is you won’t feel like you need an electrical engineering degree to figure it out.
A few comparisons show us quite a few similarities between the product lineups. For example, not one of them use battery-operated products as message repeaters, and almost all products use wireless communication one way or another. Beyond this still, things become complicated – I could struggle to describe it here and mess it up, this site X10 home automation has pages dedicated to talking about any variations.
