Transitioning starting with lighting control into home theatres shouldn’t be that much of a jump considering lots of folks (not counting us) probably kicked off their exploration for mood lighting using a remote control to make the super cool in-house theatre setup perfect. Maybe it’s just me but the Harmony series of remote controls have been a critical item and we have one for each of the tv’s. Considering we don’t watch that non-PVR style of watching at all, it seems there’s constantly at least a couple receivers and the like to switch on which I hated - grabbing the first clicker then the next one until all the devices were on, just to go backwards on the procedure after whatever I was watching was done.

While smart remotes are here now, the mixture of automation and home entertainment is moving closer each day with almost all of the more prevalent producers showcasing infared commands from any domotics network as of late and because of this anyone with an interest can then do actions we couldn’t do before like scripting a receiver which is across the apartment utilizing just your RF house device. Can you tell I’m excited? It’s neat, although things are illustrated in more detail here ISY-99 Insteon when contrasted against most blogs so it’s absolutely a good site which simplifies things amazingly well.
The writer there is way too enthusiastic regarding this stuff.
