My conversation with Ted made me think …

There was a wicked place on HGTV which seriously caused me to drool – It was crazy speech recognition and had done a really fantastic job of putting the pieces together. Nearly every kitchen appliance had a remote control and even things like the litter boxes plus the robot vacuum were fully integrated.
I have loved Zwave for years but I’d never seen automation of this level, it was amazing and I’m still in shock.
I often day dream of letting our house do neat stuff such as turning on the shower in the morning or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. I’ll admit some stuff is a bit out in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that there are people that have made it work) however stuff such as lighting and music at the touch of a button have come down in price and economical this year. In order to make this happen I need to plead my case to my lovely wife- after which I’m sure she’ll just love the site that helped me learn about this stuff: Insteon thermostat
