Something made it so I couldn’t sleep …

We watched this one house on the discovery channel which probably caused me to beg my wife – They had used whole-home automation and performed a pretty decent job setting things up. Close to every fireplace knew what to do and even the dog door and bathroom plasmas were fully integrated.
I’ve used the clapper for what seems like forever but we’d not attempted something like this, it was crazy and truly remarkable.
I often day dream of having our house do fancy tasks such as turning on the shower in the morning or reminding us of obligations as we leave the house. Many things are a ways from now (despite the fact that some people in the forums have done it) nevertheless stuff for instance environment modes at the touch of a button are ubiquitous and affordable today. The last step is to convince my lovely wife...... at which point I’m sure she’ll just love the place that helped me learn about this stuff: Insteon home automation
