Two weeks ago a huge building on the discovery channel which probably made me stare – The house had touchscreen controls and had done a really fantastic job of the implementation. Each door knew what the rest of the house was doing and things like the inside doors plus the gazebo roof were part of the system.
I had been curious about Insteon for forever but we’d not attempted a system of this caliber, it was crazy and I want everything I saw now.
I often day dream of making our house do neat stuff such as adjusting the temperature for each room or reminding us of obligations as we leave the house. I’ll admit some stuff is a ways in terms of general accessibility (although some people in the forums have done it) but some more pragmatic goals for instance lighting control for parties or relaxing have come down in price and reasonably priced now. This week I’m going to sway my lovely wife... then she can focus her energy on the place that got me started on all this: Home automation iPhone
