So many questions about remote control lights

With regards to devices related to automation I’m a big fan of some of the new stuff coming out from consortiums like Power Control Systems and the Zigbee Alliance.
The thing is the latest items coming out aren’t in reality as as much of a movement as one would imagine because they had been done through other means working with existing off-the-shelf items but now they are available as a clean little kit. That and now you don’t feel like you need fluke testers around the house to make it work.
Looking closer we see a few similarities amongst the product lineups. As an example, few of the technologies use portable products as RF boosters, and it’s hard to find one that doesn’t use radio waves to strengthen signals. Looking deeper however, it gets more a bit complex – I’d rather not venture to express it at this point and make a fool of myself, this place Insteon vs X10 does a good job of digging into the discrepancies.
