When dealing with devices associated with home of the future type stuff I can’t resist the recent stuff developed by vendors such as the Z-Wave alliance and the Z-Wave alliance.
Almost all of the recent devices developed are not really as revolutionary as evolutionary in that these things had been done previously using existing standard stuff but for beginners they are available as a organized kit. That and now you don’t need a complicated circuit diagram to set things up.
Upon closer inspection there are quite a few parallels amongst the product lineups. As an example, none of the product lineups use cordless items as signal relays, and nearly all devices use radio waves in some way. With other differences still, it gets more interesting – Rather than struggle to explain it myself and explain things poorly, this site ISY-99 Insteon does a good job of stressing some of the differences.
That said if you have any thoughts regarding how I can bring in sufficient moolah to pay for our new dependence, please help me out!
