Speaking with Mark got me planning

There was a wicked place on holmes on homes that seriously made me salivate – It was crazy home automation and had done a so-so job making it all work. Nearly every door was thinking on its own and get this- the dog door and heated floors were controlled by the house.
I always liked Zwave for forever but thinking about something like this, it was amazing and I want everything I saw now.
I often day dream of letting our home do neat stuff along the lines of announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of this stuff is still pretty far in terms of general accessibility (it should be noted that some people in the forums have done it) but things for instance lighting at the touch of a button are ubiquitous and affordable recently. I think I need to win over the wife... at which point she can hold responsible the page that helped me learn about this stuff: ISY-99i
