Reminder: buy Zigbee

I should let people know that for technologies associated with automation my wallet is at the mercy of any recent items produced through vendors like Home Automation Inc and the Zigbee Alliance.
Some of these latest items produced shouldn’t be considered really as much of a step forward as you’d think in that this stuff was done through other means using currently accessible off-the-shelf parts but now they’re accessible as a prebuilt package. One other thing is these kits don’t require a 6 page schematic to get it working.

Looking closer we see quite a few similarities among the major players. One such similarity, almost none of the technologies use portable devices as RF boosters, and it seems like all use advanced RF in some way. When investigating further however, things get a bit complex – Rather than venture to explain it now and make a fool of myself, there’s a site here Zwave devices has good discussions stressing any variations.
Now if you have thoughts relating to ways for me to make a bit of dough to cover my new obsession, for pete’s sake share!
