Last night got me thinking
by on Aug.23, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave
I recently saw a house on HGTV which almost made my jaw drop – They installed home automation and did a decent job of putting the pieces together. Every door knew what the other was doing and things like the outside sprinklers and arcade room were eerily controlled.
I’ve used the clapper for a long time but I hadn’t even dreamed about something this advanced, it was inspiring and truly remarkable.
I’ve thought about making our house more automated so it can like announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or voice alerting us to someone at the door. Although these situations are still pretty far in terms of general accessibility (regardless of this certain rich folks are doing it) nevertheless items like atmosphere settings which can be changed over the internet should be locally available and inexpensive this year. I really should plead my case to the wife...... then she can hold responsible the link that helped me learn about this stuff: Zwave devices
