I want nothing more than Zwave

It’s pretty well known that for things related to automation I pay a lot of attention to most of the recent stuff for sale through vendors such as Home Automation Inc and the Z-Wave alliance.
The thing is these latest devices for sale aren’t actually as big a deal as they claim due to the fact that these things could all be done through other means using other basic component items but nowadays they’re available as a organized package. One other thing is you won’t need a complicated circuit diagram to get it working.

There are a lot of resemblances with the technologies involved. For instance, few of the technologies use handheld remote products as signal boosters, and almost all products use radio waves as a backup. When investigating further though, it gets a bit complex – I could struggle to express it here and explain things poorly, this place Insteon home automation has good discussions digging into some of the divergences.
So if anyone has good ideas relating to methods to earn enough moolah to fund my new compulsion, for pete’s sake pass it along!
