Last night was this mansion on EHM which seriously made me want to copy it – They were using motorized plasmas in the kitchen and performed a pretty decent job making it all work. It seemed like every light knew what the other was doing and I think even the phones as well as the pool were accessible from the controllers everywhere.
I always liked X10 for a while now but thinking about a house like this, it was amazing and truly remarkable.
I always talk about letting our condo do fancy tasks like adjusting the temperature for each room or voice alerting us to someone at the door. Many things are a bit out in terms of general accessibility (regardless of this some people could do it) though some more pragmatic goals like lighting that can be remotely controlled should be locally available and economical today. I think I need to win over the wife... following which she can focus her energy on the page which made me interested in the first place: Zwave lighting
