Two weeks ago a sweet house on abc which literally made me salivate – They were using speech recognition and had done a thorough job of putting the pieces together. Nearly every sprinkler had a remote control and I think even the fridge (including ice maker) plus the pool were eerily controlled.
I always liked Insteon for forever but I’d never seen a house like this, it was amazing and I’m still in shock.
Sometimes I dream of having my place do fancy tasks such as adjusting the temperature for each room or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Some of these things are most realistically a couple years in the future (despite the fact that some groups could do it) on the other hand items for instance music at the touch of a button are ubiquitous and easy(er) on the pocket lately. Now it’s just up to me to win over my other half- at which point she can focus her energy on the link that got me started on all this: X10 home automation
