There was a house on that show after Lost that totally caused me to beg my wife – It was crazy Zwave and did a so-so job of the implementation. Almost every door knew what the other was doing and amazingly the garage doors and hot tub were fully integrated.
I had been curious about Zigbee for ages but I’d never seen a system of this caliber, it was inspiring and truly remarkable.
We talk about making where we’re living do cool things like announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Many things are still pretty far in terms of general accessibility (although some groups are in the process of it) still things such as lighting and music for different moods or events should be locally available and easy(er) on the pocket recently. In order to make this happen I need to persuade the lady writing the cheques- then I’m sure she’ll just love the page that helped me learn about this stuff: Insteon switch
