I should let people know that for technologies associated with home automation I pay a lot of attention to some of the new stuff created by places such as Power Control Systems and the Z-Wave alliance.

Nearly all of the latest devices created shouldn’t be considered so much big a deal as they claim because these things could all be accomplished previously working with existing basic stuff but nowadays they’re presented as a nice set. As a side benefit you won’t require an electrical engineering degree to figure it out.

A deeper look shows us a lot of correlations with the brands. For example, none of the offerings use handheld remote items as signal boosters, and all the items use RF in some manner. Beyond this though, things become more interesting – I could attempt to portray it here and mess it up, there’s a site here Zwave products has pages dedicated to showcasing the variations.

Now anybody having any legal ideas relating to ways for me to bring in a bit of cash to fund the recent obsession, for pete’s sake let us know!
