Our discussion made me fired up
by on Nov.19, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave
We watched a house on the discovery channel which seriously made my jaw drop – They installed motorized drapes and did a so-so job of putting the pieces together. Every sprinkler was part of the automation and since this was an extreme case the fridge (including ice maker) as well as the hot tub were fully integrated.
I always liked the clapper for ages but I hadn’t even dreamed about something this advanced, it was inspiring and I’m still in shock.
Sometimes I dream of letting my place do neat stuff such as turning on the shower in the morning or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Although these situations are a bit out in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that some houses are doing it) despite this things for example lighting for different moods or events are ubiquitous and economical today. One more thing to do: persuade my other half... at which point she can blame the site which made me interested in the first place: Home automation products
