A commercial made me think …..

There was this one house on that show after Lost that seriously made my jaw drop – They were using home automation and performed a so-so job making it all work. Each window curtain was centrally controlled and get this- the fridge (including ice maker) and heated floors were accessible from the many panels in the house.
I had been curious about Zigbee for a while now but I hadn’t even dreamed about something this advanced, it was inspiring and truly remarkable.
Sometimes I dream of letting where we’re living do fancy tasks along the lines of running a bath by just asking the house to or announcing the weather for the day in the morning. Some of these things are most realistically a couple years in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that some houses are in the process of it) however some more pragmatic goals for example music for parties or relaxing are ubiquitous and easy(er) on the pocket today. The last step is to convince the wife...... following which she can focus her energy on the link that got me interested: Insteon vs X10
