Initiating my intersection of media centers and automation technology …

Moving starting with lighting control over into home cinemas shouldn’t be very big of a change in view of the fact that several users (myself included) probably kicked off their quest for control of lights via a harmony remote to make the full room-turned-theatre setup ideal. Personally the computer programmed remote controls have been a godsend and we own one for virtually all of our house’s plasmas. Taking into consideration that we almost never watch that non-PVR thing any more, there’s almost always a bunch of receivers and the like to turn on and it drove me crazy using one clicker followed by the next in line until it was ready, before we have to repeat the process after the movie was done.

The other thing is, the integration of automation with our ‘relaxing’ technologies is moving closer each day with many of the innovating producers prototyping IR commands from your powerline system now and so anyone with an interest can do stuff like controlling a music player that’s at the far end of the apartment with one’s RF home network controls. It’s exciting, although its explained in more of an easy to understand fashion here ISY-99 when compared to other sites so it’s for sure a good place which is worth checking out.

That guy is dangerously eager regarding technology.
