So many questions about Zwave

With regards to technologies considered to be home of the future type stuff I’m a big fan of some of the recent items coming out by vendors such as Power Control Systems and the Z-Wave alliance.
Almost all of the recent items coming out are not really as revolutionary as evolutionary in that they was accomplished through other means utilizing other basic component products but for beginners they are presented as a tidy set. Another perk is you won’t need a 6 page schematic to get it working.
Upon closer inspection there are a few likenesses between the various technologies. One such similarity, none of the technologies use portable items as RF repeaters, and they all use radio frequency in some manner. When investigating further however, things become more a bit complex – I could struggle to describe it now and explain things poorly, this site ISY-99 is better at digging into the variations.
