With regards to devices related to home automation I can’t resist most of the recent items being released through consortiums such as the Zigbee Alliance and SmartLabs.
Some of the recent devices being released aren’t actually as much of a step forward as you’d think since this stuff had been created through other means utilizing other standard devices but now they are available as a organized kit. Another perk is these kits don’t require an electrical engineering degree to understand how it works.

There are a few likenesses among the product lineups. For instance, almost none of them use portable products as RF repeaters, and it’s hard to find one that doesn’t use RF one way or another. Digging deeper however, things become more involved – Rather than attempt to express it now and mess it up, there’s a site here ISY-99 Insteon has good discussions showcasing the differences.
Now anyone with thoughts on tricks to make enough moolah to make up for our recent habit, don’t hesitate to pass it along!
