A commercial got me planning

Two weeks ago this one house on holmes on homes that seriously made me want to copy it – The house had touchscreen controls and performed a so-so job of putting the pieces together. Nearly every thing that possibly could knew what the rest of the house was doing and even the showers and bathroom plasmas were controlled.
We’ve used Zwave for forever but I had never seen automation of this level, it was amazing and I want everything I saw now.
Sometimes I dream of letting our home more automated so it can along the lines of following me with music through the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. maybe some stuff is still pretty far in the future (regardless of this some people have done it) nevertheless stuff for example environment modes for different moods or events are ubiquitous and economical recently. Two weeks ago a wicked place on extreme home makeover which literally made me want to copy it – They were using Zigbee and did a so-so job of putting the pieces together. Almost every door was part of the automation and since this was an extreme case the bath tubs and pool were part of the system.
I always liked Insteon for years but thinking about automation of this level, it was wicked and I want everything I saw now.
I’ve thought about making our condo more automated so it can like following me with music through the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. I’ll admit some stuff is a ways from now (it should be noted that certain rich folks have made it work) nevertheless more practical items like music which can be changed over the internet are well within reach and affordable recently. One more thing to do: convince the lady writing the cheques...... at which point I’m sure she’ll just love the link that got me interested: Home automation products

There was a sweet house on that show after Lost that seriously caused me to drool – They had used X10 and performed a pretty decent job of the implementation. Every overhead light knew what the rest of the house was doing and even things like the dishwasher plus the gazebo roof were part of the system.
I have loved lighting control for a long time but I had never seen a dream house like this, it was crazy and I want everything I saw now.
I’ve thought about having where we’re living more automated so it can along the lines of announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or voice alerting us to someone at the door. I’ll admit some stuff is most realistically a couple years in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that some people could do it) however more practical items for example environment modes at the touch of a button should be locally available and affordable lately. This show made it hard to think about anything else …..

There was this one house on EHM that seriously made my jaw drop – The house had automatic showers and did a really fantastic job of putting the pieces together. It seemed like every light could be controlled and since this was an extreme case the inside doors plus the robot vacuum were talking to each other.
We’ve gotten a kick out of lighting control for ages but thinking about automation so integrated, it was sensational and truly remarkable.
I always talk about making our apartment more automated so it can along the lines of turning on the shower in the morning or announcing the weather for the day in the morning. Ok still several years in the future (regardless of this there are people that are in the process of it) however more practical items such as atmosphere settings at the touch of a button have come down in price and economical lately. Now it’s just up to me to win over my lovely wife... then she can blame the link where it all started: Insteon switch
