Considering our crossover points of home theatre combined with house automation …

by on Jan.20, 2010, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Changing passions from automation of your home into home entertainment is hardly much of a conversion considering many individuals almost certainly began their journey for mood lighting using a integrated control unit to make the uber-cool movie room setup perfect. Maybe it’s just me but the AMX clickers are a marvel and we now purchased one for each of our televisions. Since we rarely do the live programming style of watching at all, there is constantly a million different devices to turn on which took so much time using the first changer then the subsequent one until it was ready, just to repeat the method after our game was finished.

While smart remotes are here now, the commingling of automation with home entertainment is moving closer every time I check with quite a few respected vendors selling infared commands from a system as of late and as a result one can now do actions such as commanding a radio which could be clear across the house having only your remote Zwave device. There’s a ton to learn, though the whole thing is clarified better here Insteon Controller than most sites so it is definitely a informative destination to check out.
It’s great – the writer is entirely too eager regarding technology.

Starting our merger of entertainment centers against X10

by on Jan.07, 2010, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

Moving starting with domotics over into in-house theatres isn’t much of a leap taking into account most people almost certainly started their exploration for control of lights through a integrated control unit to make the perception of in-house theatre setup just right. Personally the touchscreen controllers have been a key device and we got one for each of the tv’s. Since I rarely do the live programming style of watching any more, it felt like there was always what seemed like many items to turn on which I hated - grabbing one changer then the subsequent one until everything was ready, only to reverse the procedure once our game was over and done with.

That said, the merger of technologies like with home entertainment is inching more realistic each day with quite a few of the innovating manufacturers selling infrared integration from your home system as of late and as a result anyone with an interest can now perform actions like controlling a radio on a different floor of the home utilizing only the wireless home network controls. Neat stuff, although it’s illustrated with more of a tutorial style here Insteon Controller than some review sites so it’s for sure a informative location which simplifies things amazingly well.

It’s great – the writer is way too enthusiastic when discussing technology.

I’m dreaming of home automation toys

by on Jan.07, 2010, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

As with all devices associated with home of the future type stuff I’m a big fan of most of the recent releases created by places like SmartLabs and SmartLabs.
What’s interesting is that the recent items created aren’t really as much of a step forward as you’d think since these things could be done other ways utilizing existing basic devices but for those starting out they’re presented as a organized package. That and you won’t feel like you need an electrical engineering degree to figure it out.

Upon closer inspection there are quite a few correlations among the vendor offerings. As an example, none of the product lineups use handheld remote items as message relays, and they all use radio frequency someway. Beyond this though, things get more a bit complex – I’d rather not try to portray it at this point and make mistakes, a site like this Insteon Controller is better at talking about any differences.

That said anybody having thoughts regarding ways for me to earn a bit of cash to sponsor our recent obsession, comment below and pass it along!

She just loves Zwave

by on Nov.18, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

I should let people know that for devices associated with house automation I watch pretty carefully the recent releases available by vendors such as the Z-Wave alliance and Power Control Systems.
Many of these new products available shouldn’t be considered so much new as they appear in that this stuff could all be built through other means working with existing standard products but for beginners they are presented as a nice set. That and these kits don’t feel like you need an electrical engineering degree to get it working.

Looking closer we see numerous likenesses between the major players. One such similarity, almost none of them use portable items as signal relays, and almost all products use radio waves someway. When investigating further still, it gets a bit complex – I’d rather not venture to describe it myself and make mistakes, this site Insteon Controller has pages dedicated to showcasing the differentiators.

Now if you have any thoughts for how I can pull together sufficient dough to cover our new addiction, don’t hesitate to pass it along!

Nothing beats home automation

by on Nov.05, 2009, under Home Automation, insteon, lighting control, zwave

I should let people know that for items considered to be my wallet is at the mercy of most of the recent releases being announced by places such as SmartLabs and Inc.
What’s interesting is that these recent products being announced are not really as big a deal as they claim in that this stuff could be accomplished before working with existing off-the-shelf parts but instead now they are available as a nice kit. One other thing is these kits don’t require fluke testers around the house to get it working.

Certainly there exist several parallels amongst the product lineups. One such similarity, few of the product lineups use battery-operated devices as RF boosters, and nearly all devices use wireless communication someway. Digging deeper though, it becomes more complicated – I’m not going to struggle to describe it at this point and mess it up, there’s a site here Insteon Controller does a good job of analyzing any differences.

That said if you’re having any visions on ways to make some moolah to fund my new compulsion, please let me know!
