My call with Quinn made it so I couldn’t sleep .

Last night was a wicked place on the discovery channel which seriously made me want to copy it – They were using motorized drapes and did a really fantastic job making it all work. Nearly every light and fan had a remote control and even silly things like the bath tubs plus the bathroom plasmas were part of the system.
I had been curious about lighting control for forever but I’d never seen a dream house like this, it was wicked and truly remarkable.
I often day dream of making our condo do fancy tasks like announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. Some of these things are still several years in terms of general accessibility (although there are people that are in the process of it) nonetheless stuff for instance environment modes for parties or relaxing should be locally available and affordable today. When I get home I will plead my case to my financial advisor- after which she can blame the page that got me started on all this: Zwave vs Insteon

Chatting with Joe got me thinking …..

I recently saw a wicked place on HGTV that totally made me stare – It was crazy motorized drapes and performed a pretty decent job setting things up. Almost every ceiling fan was integrated and stuff like the showers plus the robot vacuum were talking to each other.
I always liked Zwave for forever but I had never seen something like this, it was wicked and I’m still in shock.
I always talk about letting the current place do neat stuff along the lines of following me with music through the house or announcing the weather for the day in the morning. maybe some stuff is still several years in the future (it should be noted that some average people are in the process of it) nonetheless things such as lighting control which respond to your moods are ubiquitous and inexpensive today. I think I need to convince the lady writing the cheques... at which point I’m sure she’ll just love the page that helped me learn about this stuff: ISY-99i

Chatting with Joe got me planning

We watched a huge building on that show after Lost which almost made me stare – The house had motorized drapes and performed a pretty decent job of putting the pieces together. Every light and fan had a remote control and stuff like the dog door plus the robot vacuum were eerily controlled.
I’ve been excited by devices for controlling lights for what seems like forever but I had never seen automation of this level, it was crazy and truly remarkable.
We talk about making the superhome that we live in (slight exageration) do fancy tasks like announcing caller ID anywhere in the house or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Ok still pretty far from now (although there are people that could do it) however items such as music that can be remotely controlled are well within reach and easy(er) on the pocket lately. In order to make this happen I need to convince the wife... after which she can focus her energy on the place that got me started on all this: Zwave lighting

Our discussion made me fired up

We watched a house on the discovery channel which seriously made my jaw drop – They installed motorized drapes and did a so-so job of putting the pieces together. Every sprinkler was part of the automation and since this was an extreme case the fridge (including ice maker) as well as the hot tub were fully integrated.
I always liked the clapper for ages but I hadn’t even dreamed about something this advanced, it was inspiring and I’m still in shock.
Sometimes I dream of letting my place do neat stuff such as turning on the shower in the morning or checking our grocery list for items we’re missing. Although these situations are a bit out in terms of general accessibility (despite the fact that some houses are doing it) despite this things for example lighting for different moods or events are ubiquitous and economical today. One more thing to do: persuade my other half... at which point she can blame the site which made me interested in the first place: Home automation products

Last night was a huge building on the discovery channel which literally made me salivate – It was crazy motorized drapes and performed a seriously outstanding job setting things up. Every sprinkler knew what the rest of the house was doing and I think even the garage doors as well as the hot tub were controlled.
We’ve gotten a kick out of Insteon for a long time but we’d not attempted automation so integrated, it was crazy and I’m still in shock.
I’ve thought about making where we’re living do neat stuff along the lines of following me with music through the house or displaying the news in the bathroom mirror. Many things are still several years in the future (it should be noted that some groups are in the process of it) nonetheless things for example music for different moods or events should be locally available and affordable today. I really should persuade the wife... then I’m sure she’ll just love the site that got me interested: ISY-99i forum
